My kids deserve better than this!

First of all, all of you who happen to read our family blog, do not judge Jamie for what I am about to write. She does agree with me I am sure, but, this is completely my doing without her knowledge.
-Travis
After this weeks vote on health care in our country, I am completely beside myself feeling anger, saddness, and disbelief all at the same time. What has our government turned into? The over-used cliche keeps coming to my mind, "how's that change workin' out for ya?" No, I didn't vote for him, but, I have to believe that the majority of people that did vote for him have to be re-thinking their votes. How have we gotten so bad so fast? We are deeper in debt, deeper in the hole, more people losing their jobs, government is taking over private industry (GM, and now Health Care), less safe, and it has its sights set on gun control, abortion, gay rights and so many other things. Let me set the record straight, the Democrats are not the only one's to blame, but, they are in complete control of the governement and all of this stripping away of our personal freedoms is on their watch. Politicians and their agendas have gone from representing their constituents and doing the right thing to representing their lobbyists and doing whatever it takes to get re-elected. They vote down party lines no matter what they think, all in an effort to keep their "higher ups" happy. Let me give you an example.
Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House), anonounced the results of the health care vote, "220 yea's and 215 nea's, 219 Democrats voted for the bill and 1 Republican, that makes this bill bi-partisan". Just because 1 member of the opposing group voted for it doesn't make it bi-partisan. Can our government not see that we are more divided than ever? Do they not realize that half of the country is not happy with what is going on? Can Obama not see that his approval rating is dropping faster than Bush's did? He is currently around the 55% approval rating.
Obama is not doing anything that he "promised" all of us he would do. Government is less transparent, more in control of our lives, spending recklessly without a plan, dividing us as a nation, weakening our defense, and ultimatley discrediting our stance as a powerful nation both economically and militarily. It is terribly un-nerving to know that the most evil dictators of the world are all fans of Obama. Both Hugo Chavez (Venezuela) and Mouhmoud Ahmadinejad (sp)(Iran) have said that they are fans of Obama, and Ghadafi (Libya) said that he wishes Obama could be president forever. Is it because they all share the same characteristics, the same views, the same agendas, and ultimately the same egos? I think so! People tend to gravitate to other people they have things in common with.
Lastly, Mr. President, you appointed a general for Afghanistan to oversee operations and report the conditions back to you. The top commander in Aghanistan, General McChrystal has asked you for 40,000 more troops to sustain our efforts or we risk losing that war and that was back in September. Today you still sit in your office undecided about what should be done. Are you crazy? What is so confusing about that? Do you want to lose the war? Do you want more troops to die? The only way to lose is if they kill more of us than we kill of them. You have no combat experience, you have never served in the military, you know nothing of military strategy, and you are dumb enough to ignore experienced council. Just because your job title is "Commander in Chief", it does not make you a scholar on the subject. Get off your butt and get our troops the resources they need to get the job done. You are a disgrace to your office and to our country by remaining idle as our servicemen and women try to succeed on the battlefield understaffed and having asked you for more support. I have changed my stance from what it was after you were elected. I told myself that I would support you as my president. I DO NOT support you any longer as my president, you are as un-American as they come, your agenda is misguided and detrimental to what this country was set up to be. I can't imagine a worse person to have as a president. 1/20/2013 cannot come soon enough for me. I share Rush Limbaugh's stance, "I do hope you fail" at whatever evil it is that you are trying to inflict on this country".
God bless all of our soldiers and God bless the USA, for HE is the only one that can truely make our country great.

Family Pics with our new addition... (6 months later!) at the Newport Beach Temple

Mandy rocks!!! Thanks so much for taking family pictures for us!! We love you! and the way you make us look! What a fun 9 days we've had! The whole Garner clan all together for a beach bathing, Disneyland going, eat, play and go crazy fest!! and we even managed to get everyone to hold somewhat still to take a big family pic! Thanks Margaux for hanging out with all us crazies to snap a photo! Thanks Mandy and Brady for letting us crash at your pad and for the kids letting us kick them out of their beds! It will be sad to get back to normal life... for the most part anyway! (excluding the complete meltdowns that have been going on on a daily basis between mine and Mandy's kids.... I think they're about done with each other and all the partying for now.... time to get back to somewhat of a schedule... oh but what fun they've had!!!)

Happy Birthday Caden!!

Happy Birthday Bubba! The big "4" today!

I asked him who he wanted to invite to his "friend" birthday party next week and he sat and thought..... then I made a few suggestions which he immediately agreed to and so I asked " who else?" "Grandma Susan, Grandpa Brent, Grandma Elsie and Grandpa Paul!" was his response! I'd say those are pretty great choices.... so after explaining that Grandma Elsie and Grandpa Paul live too far away and that Grandma Susan and Grandpa Brent were coming tonight to have cake I asked again who he wanted to come to his other party... "My girlfriends mom!" as if he was annoyed at the fact that I would even ask and should have known the answer! Oh boy... we're in for it!

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday.... what a fun "first" Easter dress and what a great day to have your baby blessed!! Thanks to Grandma Susan for making the dress and to Grandma Elsie for crocheting the baby afghan...what a great combo, she'll love having both of those when she's older...she'd better love them anyway!
and thanks to Aunt Mandy for taking such cute pictures of her!

Life in the last few months...

Kylee and the boys...I asked them to say cheese and this is what I got! The best $30 spent...because it will mean my sanity to keep them entertained!
I'll have to get Travis' mom's opinion, but from the pictures I've seen of Travis at this age...I'm not sure you'd be able to tell who's who! ...and we named him Garner...ha ha ha!

"I'm still so so cold mama!"

One of Garner's "melt downs" for what reason I'm not even sure... maybe he didn't want nectarines right Lisa??

Syd had just almost lost her toes due to the metal folding chair that dropped on them from out of Grandma and Grandpas SUV...hence the look of, well, being on death's door! and Garner sporting the "hello kitty" bandaid that Aunt JoJo gave him for the little scratch on his chin!
I'm so glad the Easter Bunny brought new movies...so that I have something new to quote in my sleep because I've seen it so many times!

So I'm making mac-n-cheese and Garner grabs the cheese packet and says "I-na hewp you mama!" my response was "I'll come get you when it's time to put the cheese in and you can help" as I promptly took the cheese packet away from him and sent him outside... so when the noodles were done and I'm thinking I've lost my mind cause I just had that dang cheese packet here a second ago and it is no where to be found... I remember the offer for "help" and sure enough there it is spread all over my back patio and Garner looks at me like ".....what?"
Somehow Grandma finds some type of gingerbread structure for every holiday and we end up with a great decoration for the occation... If it looks a little bare, it's because Garner did the old "one for you, five for me, one for you ten for me" routine with the candy!

She doesn't even look like this any more... she's even cuter! and boy is dad hooked!

I'm not sure where this "get-up" came from but he's got style...especially the shorts on backwards and all the pig stickers on his tummy.....I keep reminding myself that its a good thing he can dress himself....and at least the shorts are on the bottom and the shirt is on the top!these two can't live with each other and can't live without each other!!

Yes, she is BEAUTIFUL!

Post by Travis:

Okay, since Jamie hasn't done it, I will. I may get a little sentimental here, but oh well, once a year isn't bad. This is my beautiful daughter Kendall. I am completely overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude and happiness knowing she is my daughter. It is true, I was a little bit apprehensive about having another kid, let alone a girl, admittedly I would have taken another boy. I am so happy it was a little girl. I am overjoyed by the fact that she is here and completely healthy. I look forward to seeing her every morning and every evening when I get home from work. I love my boys to death and I love to see them as well, but, as all of you father's know that have daughters, there is something special about them! She is the most beautiful thing in the whole world and I must say, she has completely got me wrapped around her little fingers already! It is amazing to me how much of a bond I already feel towards her. Usually I am not a baby guy, they are somewhat boring when you think about it; they eat, poop, sleep, and only want their mom's. She is different, I actually feel like she likes me too! I wish I could say everything that my heart feels for this little girl, I guess some of the things I feel aren't meant to be put into words. Lastly, I would just like to say that Jamie and I make some damn good looking kids!

Girls are so much fun!! ....photo shoot!

Life is insane!....these two are going to make me crazy!! It's one minute to the next! It's a good thing that Kendall is a good baby or I might really be in the looney bin! Believe it or not though...the boys really are a big help when it comes to taking care of the baby...they fetch diapers and put dirty ones in the garbage and you can't ask for more than that....(I'll just ignore the fact that they create 5 thousand times more of a mess than they help with! I love them!!!)

Daddy's little bird....check out those legs! (now you know where the nickname "birdies" came from!---it's in the jeans!)

Yes...the poor girl has her mother's giant feet...what's wrong with a size 10? Look at those boats!

"Kendall"

She made it! Kendall Lynn Williams born January 30, 2009 weighing in at 7lbs 10oz... 21in long and DARK BROWN HAIR??? Crazy eh? and plenty of it too! I'm way too tired to tell the story now, we just got home tonight from the hospital...but I will tell you it involved getting pulled over twice, yes twice on the way to the hospital at 3am and having her by 7am! WOW!! I'm just glad it's over! she is healthy...I feel great and she is the sweetest thing ever!!
Her brothers love her... for Garner, as long as mom doesn't hold her! Wish us luck cause we're going to need it!! Here are a few pics and I'll post more tomorrow!

"I like her!"

Garden update.....something grew!!!!!

I had to post that my garden actually produced something...my thumb might actually have a tinge of green! ...or maybe it was just luck....probably so!! Lulu ate my broccoli, cabbage and peas... I wanted to give her away, but the carrots, lettuce, onions and obviously the radishes have done well so far!!! Travis wants to know what we're going to do with radishes because he claims I have never in our whole married life bought a single radish... he's probably right...but it's never too late to try something new! anyone have any recipes for radish soup? ha ha ha! Obedience is my answer to him!!

Post Election Thoughts!

This post is by Travis:
Now that we have turned the page and are done with the election that seemed to never end, I would like to vent some things that I am feeling.
Obama did pull off a very clear win, I can't say that I really doubted he would, I just prayed he wouldn't. He ran a great campaign and McCain didn't! He inspired many people around the country to get out and vote. He reads great speeches.
I would like to dwell on the speech part of it for a second. I sell carpet and tile for a living, I graduated high school, and do not have a college degree. I am not a scholar on anything really, I haven't been educated by the uber-smart people in the country. With all of that being said, I can give one hell of a speech if all I have to do is read it. That is all that Barack Obama has done with regard to his speeches. For those who are shocked by what I am saying, all politicians on that level have speeches written for them by PROFESSIONAL speech writers. Look at Sarah Palin for example, as much as I love her, she didn't seem to know a whole lot about specific things, but she gave a spectacular speech at the Republican Convention, even the Democrats could agree with that. That is because she had speech writers to prepare it. All she did was read it. When she had to answer questions on the spot, she had troubles at times. SO DID BARACK OBAMA! If you have ever heard Barack Obama speak off the cuff as they say, he stutters more than any person I can think of. Why does he stutter so much? Because just like Palin, they are both rookies to all of this. If anything, Palin has more experience than Obama does in government. To all of you out there that are still in awe of Barack Obama's acceptance speech, just know that it isn't hard to read what professionals have put together, and most of it is just talk, meant to impress you! Here's an example of what I am talking about. When I was in 8th grade, Whit Wright ran for student body president at Poston Jr. High. In his speech to gather votes at the assembly, he promised that he would make teacher's do homework and that he would put Dr. Pepper in all of the drinking fountains. I was blown away by that speech, it affected me deeply. I still remember it. How could I not vote for Whit, his ideas were brilliant? Needless to say, he inspired almost all of our grade to vote for him, it was a landslide of student body proportions. Whit won the election and I never saw one teacher do homework and I never sipped from the flowing fountains of Dr. Pepper. My point is, a great speech is just a great speech, it doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things.
Barack Obama in his "earth shattering" speech promised to work with two parties to resolve the problems that we are facing. That is great in theory, but he is having a tough time convincing me of this. He just asked Rahm Emanuel (sp) to be the Chief of Staff. This guy is more to the left than Obama. Look him up on Wikipedia if you don't belive me, you will love the knife incident with him! It is going to be tough to work together as two parties if your whole cabinet is not just leaning to the left but falling over to the left. Do I expect him to pick Republican's to be in his cabinet? Not at all, but pick some people that might feel inclined to work together with Republican's.
Like my previous posts, this may sound racist but I am just speaking on how I feel. What is with all of these names leading our country all of the sudden? Barack Hussein Obama and his first pick for cabinet Rahm Emanuel (sp). What ever happened to Johnson, Wilson, Jackson, White, Smith, and names like that? It is a little bit worrysome for me to say the least.
I am not overjoyed by having Barack Obama as president as you can tell. I will be honest and say that I will support him as my president. We all should, it is our patriotic duty. I don't have to like him and I don't have to agree with him, but I should and I will pray for him. I will pray that he always seeks divine guidance with regard to making decisions regarding the well being of my family and the world around me.
Can we PLEASE stop with the whole racial part of this victory. Yes, a black american is going to be president, that is fantastic. It is not just fantastic for the black community, it's fantastic for all races everywhere. The black community has come a long ways from their beginnings in this country, it is great to say that, but, to hash and re-hash the racial victory this is for black america is doing nothing but dividing us and reminding us off the past. Lets look to the future! Having a black president is great but when it comes down to it, we elected a president who happens to be black, not a black president. The importance has always been on the issues not the race, lets keep it that way!
President Obama has a wonderful opportunity to prove he can overcome politics as usual and show all of us that he can unite and work together as he has promised. If he strives to achieve this, our economy will improve, our world standing will improve, and our well beings will improve. If he continues his partisan ways as President, the only thing we can expect is another 4 years of disappointment and loss, loss on so many different levels.
Finally, I can't say how happy I am that California, Arizona, and Florida have passed their ballots to outlaw gay marriage. What a victory for morality, it does give me hope for the world my kids will grow up in. I do believe that God played a part in all of this. He saw how much people worked and sacrificed to help these ballots pass, and He has blessed us. This will be a fight for a very long time and I hope people stay true to their convictions as the years go by so that we never pass such immoral laws. This to me was so much more important than the presidential election. Perhaps, the only bright spot in a somewhat disappointing election year.

Trunk-or-Treat!

Friday we had the ward trunk-or-treat and we had so much fun...eating chili, corn bread and homemade rootbeer while we shuffled through the manure/dirt in Bro Wilkins' pasture and then proceed to load the kids up with as much sugar as we could, only to do it all again on Halloween night trick-or-treating the neighborhood! How much more fun can you have???

Its "Pete" and "Re-Pete"...... we bought Caden this skeleton costume and figured Garner could wear the Lion costume Caden wore last year... wasn't going to happen... as soon as Caden put on the skeleton Garner wanted a "skedaton too Mama!"
Travis hit the road and 5 stores later and 15 min before the party started, found one for Garner, ..... what a good dad!!

Garner's first words were daddy, mama, and Candy (not joking!) they made their cruise around to all the trunks and he climbed up into the car and helped himself to his and Caden's candy bags!

Why I am voting McCain!

This is Travis again and I have taken over Jamie's blog to state the reasons why I am voting for McCain in this years presidential election. While I respect everyone's political views, I don't necessarily agree with everyone's political views. Here is my top twelve list of reasons why I am voting for McCain this year!

12. I believe that the redistribution of my wealth (although it isn't much) is completely wrong. I am responsible for raising and supporting my family not yours. I tell you what Barack Obama, as soon as you start spreading the wealth that you recieved from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the last few years I will start spreading my little wealth. FYI, for all of those people who don't know, Barack Obama is the second highest recipient of money from Fannie and Freddie. Who's the first you ask? No it's not John McCain. It's another Democrat, this time it is Chris Dodd of the Senate Banking Committee, well isn't that an interesting coincedence. You won't hear that on CNN!

11. I do not believe in special rights for you if you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or something weirder than that! If you choose to be that way, that's your fault. Not mine. It isn't Gods fault either so quit thinking that he made you that way. I shouldn't have to accomodate you differently. Even if you marry another woman that looks like a man, you are still gay. If you want rights to marry another person of the same sex, move somewhere else. In all fairness, Barack Obama even states that he believes marriage is between one man and one woman.

10. Speaking of God, He lives, He loves us as His children. He blesses us as a nation when we put our dependence and faith in Him. When politicians or groups (LIBERALS, ACLU, etc...) decide to take His name out of everything from the Pledge of Allegiance to our currency to our religious rights, we should not be surprised that bad things happen. How can we expect His blessings when we only rely on Him and trust in Him after something bad happens. What I wouldn't give to have the original Founding Fathers back in control of this country, they realized the importance of seeking direction from God in making laws. Maybe it is beacuse none of them were Liberals? It really makes you think.

9. I believe that it is better to take the fight to the terrorists in their lands than to fight them in OUR land. I appreciate and respect a president (Pres. Bush) that goes against popular opinion to do what's right with respect to protecting this country. He has not been right a lot of the time, but with respect to terrorism and our protection, he has been steadfast and direct. It is amazing to me that the most popular Democrats in our society all voted to go to war and are now saying they oppose it. I do not want a President that makes decisions based on being popular. What dishonors the sacrifice of our precious men and women in service more than tucking tail and abandoning the very people we committed to help? God bless the soldiers past and present that protect our freedom and liberty.

8. I do not believe that the government should be involved with our health care decisons. Government screws up everything it touches! Yes, there are a lot of people without health care, but it is not the governments responsibility to mandate to everyone who they will see for medical purposes. If you look at any society around the world that has socialized health care, you will see a country that can not provide for their citizens in a timely or efficient manner. If you polled those same citizens and offered them the type of health care we now enjoy, they would all jump ship and take it! Check into it!

7. Experience matters to me. Let's look at it. John McCain started his service to our country as a soldier and as we all know spent a lot of time as a POW. He has spent almost 30 years in Congress. Barack Obama has two years of service to this country, half of that time he has been campaigning for president. Do they really even stack up? I do believe Barack Obama when he says he will change things. Due to his lack of experience and knowledge in government, he will screw up even more than what has already been screwed up. I guess that qualifies as change.
6. Friendships! How can you be friends with so many bad people and not even realize it? Barack Obama is the worst judge of character I have ever seen. How can a man of such high moral direction be friends with William Ayers? Who is he you ask? He is a domestic terrorist who still to this day has not apologized for commiting acts of terrorism in our own country. What's worse, he teaches in a university now. Luckily, these attacks did not kill anyone. The Rev. Jeremiah Wright (Barack's personal "spiritual" leader for 20 years) is one of the most racist, hatred filled people out there. (Just look at his rants on YouTube) For 20 years Obama sat in the pews of this man's church and listened to the hatred and racism that spewed from this man's mouth. To this day, Barack Obama says he never heard Rev. Wright talk like that! Thats not BO thats BS! For sake of argument, My BFF MC (ask a teenager what this means if you have no idea) and I have been friends for almost 15 years, I probably know more about him than his wife. You get to know people really well as you hang out with them. It's utterly detestable that he has gotten away with these friendships in the media! Speaking of the media, it is reason enough to vote against someone if the media and Hollywood celebrities support him. Talk about poor moral compass'.

5. This really has nothing to do with BO personally, but it's his political party so it goes against him. I do not understand how the Democrat leadership and their respective base can look up to and exalt a man like Bill Clinton. He is their god and their king. He is the most dis-honest, dis-loyal, and utterly the biggest creep that walked the earth. I understand why Hillary would stay with him, she needed to further HER career. One Liberal might tell you, "nobody died when Clinton lied." Yes, this is true, but it doesn't excuse the fact that he upset the most sacred fabric of our culture, the devotion and promise to your wife and family. Bill Clinton committed one of the most dispicable and dishonest things you can do as a human being to another, he committed adultery more than once, then he lied about it over and over until the proof came out against him. He is a poor excuse for a man, a poor excuse for a leader, and the poorest excuse for a role model. The moral compass for the Democrat party is Bill Clinton, if that isn't disturbing, I don't know what could be. Now that Hillary's rise to the top was stopped short we will see what happens with them! I won't even go into the fact that he had Osama bin Laden in the crosshairs of a sniper rifle during his presidency and didn't authorize the shot! Look into it if you Clinton lovers don't believe me. Again, you don't hear that on CNN.
4. What heartless fool would take the life of an unborn baby? For all of you liberals out there reading this, that means ABORTION. Barack Obama voted to support a law in Chicago that would prevent medical staff from performing life saving treatment on a newborn where the abortion procedure was done incorrectly, this would allow the baby to survive. (Let me give you a visual: the baby goes through an unsuccessful abortion procedure, it is born alive and is left to die w/o recieving treatment, the nurses cannot help the defenseless child because of this law.) I don't even know how a person could even get to the conclusion that that is okay. I believe abortion should only be admissable when it affects the life of the mother or if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest. Abortion is murder and that is fact.

3. Are you tired of high gas prices? I know I am. We Republican's have a great idea, lets drill for our own oil seeing that we have just as much available to us here in our own country as the Middle East has in theirs. It's about time we started investing in ourselves and started creating jobs HERE, generating money HERE, and lowering the cost of living HERE. The liberals have blocked measures every time we have tried to create oil refineries. We could drill HERE and keep our money HERE instead of sending it over seas where surely some of it goes to terrorist organizations. We are literally funding operations and groups that want to destroy us and our country. We are involved in the largest transfer of wealth ever. If you don't believe me, look at Dubai and the wealth those people have from selling oil to the world. I would hate to think what we could do with that wealth HERE. Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, help the sick! I can only imagine! Of course, if we were to do that the Democrats couldn't blame anything on the Republicans. Speaking of gas! You remember how it was Pres. Bush's and the Republican's fault that we had high gas prices a couple of years ago? For you ignorant and uninformed Demo's out there, Congress has been under your (Democrat) control for the past two years and we have seen the highest gas prices ever during this time. It is funny Bush never gets blamed for it anymore. You are lucky the press is on your side and won't report the truth! Another thing, Bush has the third lowest approval rating of any president, that's bad I know, but, the current Democrat controlled Congress has the worst approval rating ever for a Congress, now that's un-excusable. They should all be fired! Interesting huh? You won't hear that on CNN.

2. My personal belief is that Barack Obama has more skeleton's in his closet than the Halloween Superstore on the corner. The guy creeps me out. I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling from him. I don't trust him. For all of you race baters out there, it has nothing to do with him being black. I have friends that I consider family that are black and I love them. It does have something to do with him being raised by a Muslim or that he attended Muslim schools as a kid. Has it come out that he is or was a Muslim, I don't think so, but there are enough questions to make me concerned about it. Even in an interview with George Stephanopolous (spelled wrong I am sure), he acknowledged "his Muslim faith", did he mispeak? I don't know for sure, George S. had to correct him, he didn't do it himself. I am not convinced by that religion or that he isn't a Muslim, I am not convinced it is a religion of peace, they surely haven't proved that they are. I realize that the Muslim faith does have an extreme element to it that not all Muslim's take part in. I don't know which side of that line Obama is on, hell, I don't even know where that line is drawn. This next thing may be racist to say, but at least I am honest. Who would have thought that 7 years after 9/11 we would be on the doorstep of electing a man named Barack Hussein Obama to run the United States? I want a President that seeks advice and council from my Heavenly Father, the creator of Heaven and Earth, the One in whose image we are all created. I want a man that wakes up in the morning in prayer desiring to know what God wants for His children. A man that go's to bed thanking Him for His direction and blessing. I believe that if God leads our politcal leaders and if those same political leaders seek and follow His council (with exactness), we have nothing to fear. We will be blessed beyond measure, we will prosper beyond what we think is attainable. I want a man that will do everything is his power to protect my wife and my children. Only my God can offer that protection. Any person that listens to a "spiritual" leader like Rev. Wright does not know who God is, my God does not inspire such hatred and belief. For that reason alone I know that Barack Obama does not know my God. My God is full of love, equality, peace, and ready to bless all of us immensly if we seek Him. I do not trust that Barack Obama will seek that divine council, he has no idea where to find it. Therefore, Barack Obama is not that man as I see it.

1. Sarah Palin is better looking than Joe Biden!

A Utah girl's attempt to garden in AZ!

Well, I've been here in AZ for 5 years now and it's still wierd to see petunias in October!!!

...and here is my obedient attempt to try and grow a garden... back home you just drop some seeds in the ground and they grow... here it's a bit different... so this is one of our boxes and if you use your magnifying glass you can see a few sprouts! Yeehaw! we'll see how it all turns out!!

This is our new friend "Mantis"... the boys named him and he's been literally "hanging out" on the patio for the last week! ....go Mantis!...eat those bugs!

Ward Camp-out.... Yes, Travis went camping!

Wow, this was a notable event... Travis camped and cooked! the Elders quorum made breakfast for everyone and Travis jumped right in as Chef Boy-r-dee! Great job babe!
This was Caden's idea of setting the cones up for the kids to play football...

Well, I have to give props to Travis for sacrificing the luxuries of home to let the kids have a blast at the ward camp-out!...even though he had an air mattress, running water, and an indoor, tiled bathroom with a real toilet! (don't you feel bad for him?) We had so much fun! The kids played in the dirt and Garner thought that the "fiya" was the greatest thing he had ever seen!

and thanks to Mariah (one of my YW) for taking all these pictures cause I was too tired to do it myself! great job girl!

Can I get a HELL NO for Obama!

This is a post from TRAVIS!!!!!!!Since my picture is on this blog and Jamie talks about me sometimes, I feel it is my right and duty to add things occasionally without Jamie's permission. This is one of those times. Although I am not a "HUGE" fan of McCain, we cannot afford to have an extreme liberal like Barack (yes, his middle name is HUSSEIN) Obama in charge of our country and our government. Yes, I admit the Republican's have screwed it up , but can you imagine what a Liberal would do to it? Vote McCain!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRAVIS!

It was Travis' b-day yesterday and we had a few munchies and cake and ice cream... I attempted some cup cakes and a golf ball cake which decided to sag after an hour cause I slapped it together so quick and didn't let the frosting set up... it's the thought that counts honey!! I love you and hope you had a good birthday!!

Pink-Pink-Pink-Pink-Pink!!!!!

Well, it's official!.......It's a Girl! We found out yesterday and I have to say I was a bit surprised... I was totally convinced that it was another boy... which would have been great, but I'll say that I was pleasantly surprised with the girly news!!

Travis was of course making all the comments like, "great, now we have to buy all new stuff and paint stuff pink!"...but you could see the smile on his face.... he's going to love having a girl!!

And, I will admit...this could be a bit more dangerous than having a boy... there are a lot more options for cute little girls clothes!!! I can't wait to go shopping!

CHRISTMAS FAMILY PHOTOS

So most of you know I do a little photography on the side as a hobby...last year I did quite a few family photo shoots for Christmas cards and it was a lot of fun! Some of you have contacted me already to see if it's a go for this year...the answer is definitely yes!! I have a photo blog that I keep together of work I've done and I've added a price list and info for this season.....Keep in mind that Christmas is coming fast...ready or not!! My sister (graphic designer that she is) will be designing some photo christmas cards as well (the designs will be posted soon) as an option... or, if you just want an updated family photo to hang on the wall, that is great!! check out my photos at:
jamiewilliamsphotography.blogspot.com
And feel free to pass on the info to whomever!!!

(ps...my sister educated me on the fact that typing in all caps on the web signifies that you are shouting... pardon my ignorance and let me remind you that I was born in the 70's and it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!! so if you read this post when it was in all caps...I'm really sorry!! ha ha ha!)

Cookies

I had Joy's kids today while she worked and while the little boys were sleeping, Tylee and Caden made cookies..... I told them I was going to take their picture...Tylee says, "Why don't I scoot closer to Caden and put my arm around him and then you can take a picture of us?"....great idea, except you can see by the look on Caden's face that he was going to have nothing to do with that! Keep thinking that son... girls have cooties....until you're off your mission!!

Diamond Backs game

Thanks Aunt Debbie and Uncle Barlow for inviting us to your little shin-dig at the diamond backs game!! we had a blast! Who can beat sitting in a suite with food and family? I think Caden enjoyed the binoculars more than the game!!

boys will be boys!

So it has rained a bit... and finally not too hot to play outside for a minute...
so I'm watching the boys each with a large plastic bat hitting the ball across the back lawn to each other...harmless right? then I notice them whacking at the ground and the ball doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight and Garner is covered in something... I get to the back door and see the nasty rain water/grass/mud that has been sitting since yesterday's storm flying in every direction every time they hit it with the bats!! don't worry, Caden has on his new school shoes he's only been wearing for 2 weeks.... you were right Laurie...I should have followed your lead and at least taken a picture of them when they were still shiny and new! so after a few pictures, I strip them down in the back yard and literally hose them off which they found totally amusing and then I couldn't get them into the house to get in the tub..... I just know this 3rd baby is going to be another boy!!!! Heaven help me!
